They claim they are selling a Dufonte watch and Bracelet set by Lucien Piccard. They further claim that this silvertone beauty with gorgeous heart-shaped links and a silver dial can simply be bought and shipped directly to your house. And if that weren’t far-fetched enough, they claim to be able to sell it at a 88% discount. Let the busting begin.
We started testing this myth first by gathering as many watch and bracelet sets as we could that most closely resembled the set offered by the JomaDeals deal of the day. We then ran various tests: we put them in the microwave. We ran over them with our car. We set them on fire. We hooked them up to TNT and blew them up. My big-moustached and beret-ed colleague even painted his skin silver, the same color of the watch, just to see what would happen. But with all of our testing, our results were still inconclusive. We needed to dig deeper.
Then our intern Michelle did the unthinkable. She went online, ordered the Lucien Piccard watch and bracelet set at a deal of the day discount, and a few days later, it arrived in the mail. “Case closed,” she said. “This Myth is confirmed.”
She was fired the next day. If we can’t solve a myth with explosions and elaborate set ups, we don’t solve them at all. Now who wants to shoot an Ostrich Egg full of Nitro Glycerin?
