This was the first of a series of movies based on the novels of Tom Clancy, originally starring Alec Baldwin as Jack Ryan before they canned him and brought in Harrison Ford to make the rest (then in 2002 they replaced Harrison Ford with Ben Affleck in The Sum of All Fears…the less said about that huge mistake, the better). The point I’m trying to make here, is that if you liked The Hunt for Red October (and everyone did, if you didn’t, there IS something wrong with you), then you’ll love this watch. Why? Because that movie was about some bad-A Communist submariners who defied the USSR to defect over to the United States. This watch, the Russian Diver, did almost the exact same thing. At least it would have if there was still a communist Russia to defect from.
